Paid Training – Trades / Handyman Background

NBCP Communications Systems is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented tradesperson or high-level handyman for a long-term career transition into Commercial Audio-Visual (AV) Installation. We provide full, on-the-job technical training.

We are looking for a dedicated professional who takes pride in precise work, possesses strong mechanical aptitude, and is looking for a stable, long-term home with a well-oiled team. This is a career track position, not a temporary gig.

Travel & Compensation

·        •  Travel Requirement: Approximately 40% out-of-state travel. Must be willing and able to take extended assignments throughout the U.S.

·        •  Per Diem: Provided for all travel periods.

·        •  Compensation: Competitive base pay with extensive, consistent overtime opportunities.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

We do NOT require prior AV experience, but we do require a proven track record of hands-on mechanical skill and reliability. To be considered, you must possess:

·        •  Stable Work History: A documented track record of reliability and longevity in previous roles (no chronic job-hopping).

·        •  Core Trade Experience: 2+ years of paid experience in remodeling, construction, flooring, carpentry, and several related skilled trades.

·        •  Precision Skills: High proficiency in drywall/wall repair, ceiling modifications, finish work, and structural anchoring/mounting.

·        •  Tool Proficiency: Mastery of standard hand and power tools, with the ability to safely work from ladders and lifts.

·        • Clean Personal/ Criminal Record  A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and the ability to pass a THOROUGH background check/drug screening required for federal or corporate job sites.

Core Responsibilities

·        •  Perform clean structural modifications, including cutting, drilling, framing support, and repairing drywall/ceilings to prepare spaces for technology integration.

·        •  Mount large-format displays, projectors, video walls, cameras, and commercial speakers securely to various wall and ceiling structures.

·        •  Assemble, wire, and install equipment racks cleanly and systematically.

·        •  Learn to pull, dress, route, and terminate low-voltage communication cabling (Cat6, fiber optics).

·        •  Collaborate with senior technicians to read schematic drawings, follow installation plans, and troubleshoot systems.
